The most iconic model by Louis Vuitton, the Speedy, was extremely popular in Tbilisi in the 2000s.

A lot of people owned this bag and used it every day.

Years later, the clean girl aesthetic and the influence of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's minimalist style made the Speedy disappear from the streets of Tbilisi.

Logos started to feel too loud for people.

My friend bought this model at a time when bags worth €1,500 were being sold for 400 GEL because people wanted to replace them with more understated designs.

The bag had become something annoying — something people wanted to get rid of.

When I saw the Louis Vuitton bag hanging from my friend's arm, I instantly loved it, and later I bought one myself for quite a low price — around 800 GEL.

After that, we even convinced several of our friends to buy one too.

Slowly, the monogrammed Speedy started reappearing around Tbilisi.

Once the local supply sold out, people began ordering them from websites like Vestiaire Collective and Vinted.
